BIO
Musician, model, and designer Mather Louth is no stranger to the world of creation. In fact, Louth attests to the fact that her preferred state of being is that of constant creative expression, since it provides a sort of sane calm to counter the sometimes overwhelming sense of chaos in life.
Born and raised on the East Coast, Louth expressed an interest in art at a very young age, filling her time with singing, drawing, painting, sculpting, sewing, and essentially any other medium she was able to get her hands on. While in elementary school, Louth found a new platform for expression in theater. Her love for this medium was so great that Louth continued on to perform and work in countless productions through her senior year of high school, and was accepted into New York’s prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts, where she learned all aspects of performing from working professionals in the New York theater realm. However, it became clear to Louth that the true element of theater that inspired her the most was the music.
THE MUSICIAN
In the winter of 2004, Louth relocated to Los Angeles to better pursue her musical inclinations. After recording many solo demos, Louth formed MATHER LOUTH AND RADIO NOIR, a band perhaps best classified as “swamp jazz”. In its over 6 year span, Radio Noir gained a large following and respect in the underground community, playing many festivals to much acclaim and releasing The Swamp Jazz Sessions EP.
One Indian summer evening in 2012 at a mutual friend’s gathering, Louth crossed paths with rock ‘n roll veteran Chopper Franklin (The Cramps, Nick Curran & the Lowlifes.) The two quickly uncovered a mutual appreciation for murder balladry, Americana, and memento mori. It was not long before groundbreaking and genre-bending band, THE HEATHEN APOSTLES, surfaced. The band released their debut album Boot Hill Hymnal in 2013 to great critical acclaim, with the Without A Trace EP following soon after in early 2014. 2015 proved to be the busiest year of releases yet, with a trio of singles and music videos for Death’s Head, Fool’s Gold and a cover of Loretta Lynn’s Fist City paving the way for the Heathen’s second full-length recording, Fire To The Fuse, released on Halloween. 2016 finds the Heathen Apostles in pre-production for the final single off of Fire To The Fuse, Drowned in Trouble, and are working on new music to be released later in the year.
THE MODEL
Upon her arrival in Los Angeles, Louth began building an impressive name for herself as a print and catalog model both nationally and internationally. Among her many notable print credits are LA Weekly, Demonia Shoes, Gothic Beauty, OC Weekly, Z!nk, Elle Magazine, Jane Magazine, and Ol Skool Rodz. Louth has also shot countless ad campaigns for prestigious companies including Lip Service, Stop Staring!, Wonderland Corsets, and Pinup Girl Clothing.
In 2013, Louth expanded her modeling career into the world of fine art, bringing her uncanny ability as a chameleon into a new realm of creative expression. In her over three years as a full-time fine art model, Mather has been blessed to collaborate with countless prestigious schools, studios, and individual artists alike, and continues to rise to the challenge of regularly reinventing herself so that she can continue to inspire artists and help bring their own creative visions to life.
THE DESIGNER
As a designer, Louth is the brainchild behind Cadaver Couture, whose clothing and accessory designs have been prominently featured during 2011’s OC Fashion Week. That same year, Louth was short-listed by Stephen Jones and VOGUE UK for her millinery creation “Exoskeleton” in Talenthouse’s “Design a Hat for Stephen Jones” competition. Currently, Louth continues to sew and craft creations for her own work, and takes private design commissions based upon availability.

IN THE WORDS OF OTHERS:
“And what a voice! Mather’s like an old, soulful Nick Cave, all gutteral and bellowing, powerful and sexy…Mather’s classy, vintage voice was the perfect icing to the gritty beauty of the rest of the night.” -Trisha Hanudel, LAbuzzBLOG
“Your troubles are momentarily forgotten when Mather Louth and Radio Noir absorb you into their bourbon sipping blues.”
– Jeffrey Pegg, 405 East
“Forget simply listening- it’s hard not to WATCH during Mather’s demanding delivery of what she calls ‘burlesque blues’, an enticing blend of drums, electric guitar, saxophone, voice…and the all-important tease.”
– April Carter Grant, MiPOesias Magazine
“Mather Louth and Radio Noir list their influences as, “memories of the desert” and “New York City”. And that’s how best to describe them – vast emptiness of the desert mixed in with complexities of a dark, nocturnal city. Mather’s voice? Sexy and mesmeric, like a narcotic of some sort.” – JM Hebron, Picksysticks
“To say low down and dirty is an understatement. Mather is the real deal…she attacks the microphone with fierce vocal inflection…imagine Patsy Cline meets PJ Harvey..” – Lazyskin Media
