“Strange Flowers” OUT NOW!

That’s right! “Strange Flowers”, the brand new and incendiary single from the Heathen Apostles, is now available for purchase. The song and video are a response to political corruption and the dangers of censorship, with the video itself marking a milestone for the Heathens (being that it is their tenth full-length music video!)

“Strange Flowers” cover art revealed

“Strange Flowers”, the brand-new Heathen Apostles single, will be released this Friday, May 12th on Ratchet Blade Records. The corresponding video, fresh out of the Devil’s Doghouse, will also accompany the single, and marks the tenth full-length video released by the band.

Heathen Apostles at Bar Sinister

Mather and the Heathen Apostles will be performing at Bar Sinister this Saturday, March 11th. This show will feature the full lineup, including the debut of their brand-new drummer Dino Guerrero (of Charley Horse, Mike Ness, and Murder in Exile fame). If you’ve been missing the full, harder Heathen Apostles sound, you DON’T want to miss this show!

WPPI Honors of Excellence Silver Award

Among her many accolades at this year’s WPPI conference, acclaimed photographer Cheryl Walsh received an Honors of Excellence Silver Award for the Dia De Los Muertos image taken of Mather. Many congratulations to Cheryl for her well-deserved honors!

First Heathen Apostles show of 2017!

After making a surprise appearance as a Duo this past Sunday the 12th, the Heathen Apostles (sans drums) will be performing at the Maui Sugar Mill Saloon this Saturday the 18th! Also appearing will be Swords of Fatima, Peg Leg Love, and Le Cos. Don’t miss the FREE show! (Doors at 9pm)

Happy Halloween/Dia De Los Muertos!

Hope you all had a fantastic Halloween, and are also taking the time today to remember your departed loved ones (being that it is Dia De Los Muertos).

Mather had the pleasure of submerging once again for the incredible Cheryl Walsh, this time donning two outfits representing the dearly departed as well as the passage of space and time. Special thanks to Alta DeKoven for her amazing makeup artistry, and to Cheri Wilson Chagollan for the loan of her beautiful mermaid skirt and neck ruffle to complete the celestial costume.

Recently, Chopper and Mather had the honor of working with renowned macabre photographer Chad Michael Ward for some brand-new portraits, just in time for the Halloween season. Underwater Photoshoot – Cheryl Walsh Fine Art Photography

Yesterday, Mather had the privilege of collaborating with award-winning fine art photographer Cheryl Walsh on her first underwater photo shoot. Among her many accolades, Cheryl has earned the 2016 WPPI Grand Award, and is truly an artistic leader in her chosen field.

Heathen Apostles Duo shows – Labor Day weekend

This Labor Day weekend, Chopper and Mather will be hitting the road as the Heathen Apostles Duo for another set of tour dates in Moorpark and Solvang. Friday night, they will be joined by Medicine Hat at Lucky Fools Pub, and will be playing two sets at Sort this Out Cellars in Solvang the next night. If you’re local to either city, come out and show your support- both shows are FREE!

Heathen Apostles at Clifton’s

The Heathen Apostles will be making a special appearance this Thursday, August 18th at the legendary (and recently remodeled) Clifton’s in Downtown Los Angeles.

This time, they will be playing 3 sets bluegrass-style (no drums) starting at 9pm, and will be performing their takes on classic tunes as well as acoustic versions of original songs. The best part is, there’s NO COVER for the evening, so come and explore, and pick up an album or t shirt to show your support for the band!

“Misery and Gin” music video, EP release party

“Misery and Gin”, the latest EP from the Heathen Apostles, releases this Friday, July 22nd on Ratchet Blade Records! The EP, recorded in tribute to the late, great Merle Haggard, contains two covers from the outlaw country legend’s impressive catalog- “I’m Gonna Break Every Heart I Can”, and of course, “Misery and Gin”. As a bonus, the EP also contains an off-the-wall remix of “I’m Gonna Break Every Heart I Can” by Almighty Watching.

New Heathen Apostles EP “Misery and Gin” out July 22

The Heathen Apostles will be releasing their Merle Haggard tribute EP Misery and Gin on July 22nd on Ratchet Blade Records, just in time for Mather’s birthday on the 23rd!

It will feature the two songs the Heathens performed in May at the Merle Haggard tribute concert- “Misery and Gin” and “I’m Gonna Break Every Heart I Can”. The EP will also feature a remix of “I’m Gonna Break Every Heart I Can” by Almighty Watching. A release show has been scheduled for July 21st at The Viper Room in West Hollywood, CA. Also appearing will be Charlie Overbey and Paul Cauthen.

Jonny Whiteside’s Messaround – Merle Haggard tribute show

This past Sunday, May 15th, Jonny Whiteside pulled off yet another fantastic edition of The Messaround- this time, paying tribute to the late, great Merle Haggard. Mather, Chopper, and Luis of the Heathen Apostles were honored to perform “Gonna Break Every Heart I Can” and “Misery and Gin” in Merle’s honor along with over a dozen other fantastic local performers!

The Heathen Apostles will be making an appearance as a full band on Saturday, May 28th at Spike’s Bar and Billiards for another edition of Brando Von Badsville’s REV IT UP! Our friends Resurex will be headlining that evening, and the bill also includes Dead Girls Corp. and DJ Von Badsville.

This just in: Jason Palmer of Uber Rock has shared kind words for REQUIEM FOR A REMIX, calling the latest Heathen Apostles release “a great mix of Goth and Industrial, helped along by the fact that Mather Louth has a great voice which at times is almost Siouxsie-esque.” If you haven’t done so already, you can purchase the album in both digital and physical form on the Heathen Apostles Bandcamp.

The tribute show is all ages, no cover, and will feature a great roster of performers including Cody Bryant, Ronnie Mack, Tony Gilkyson, Brian Hogan, the Groovy Rednecks, and more.

New Heathen Apostles remix album

The Heathen Apostles will be debuting a brand new album this Friday, April 8th, entitled REQUIEM FOR A REMIX. The album is a collection of eclectic remixes of songs from both BOOT HILL HYMNAL and FIRE TO THE FUSE by fellow Ratchet Blade Records artist Phantom of the Black Hills, Almighty Watching, and the Heathen’s own Chopper Franklin. As a bonus, the album also contains a haunting cover of Echo and the Bunnymen’s “The Killing Moon” as well as a very early demo Mather recorded of her song “The Dark Pines” (featured on BOOT HILL HYMNAL.)
